We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Fishmonger to handle, prepare, and present seafood products in a hypermarket setting. The role involves ensuring freshness, maintaining hygiene standards, and delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and store fresh fish and seafood deliveries.
- Clean, scale, gut, fillet, and portion fish according to customer requirements.
- Ensure all seafood products are fresh, properly labeled, and attractively displayed.
- Maintain proper temperature control and storage conditions.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times.
- Monitor stock levels and assist in inventory management and ordering.
- Provide customer assistance, including product recommendations and preparation advice.
- Ensure work area, tools, and equipment are clean and sanitized.
- Minimize waste and ensure efficient use of products.
- Comply with company policies and local health regulations.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Fishmonger or in seafood handling (preferred).
- Knowledge of different types of fish and seafood.
- Skilled in cutting, filleting, and seafood preparation techniques.
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Ability to work in cold and wet environments.
- Good customer service and communication skills.
- Physical stamina and ability to handle heavy loads.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Training or certification in food handling or seafood processing.
- Experience in retail or hypermarket environments.
Working Conditions:
- Rotational shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Work in chilled environments with exposure to water and ice.
