Job Title: Legal Advisor (Retail / Hypermarket Operations)
Role Summary:
The Legal Advisor is responsible for managing all legal, regulatory, and compliance matters of the company, ensuring risk mitigation across operations, contracts, labor, and commercial activities. The role focuses on protecting the company from legal exposure while enabling business growth through structured, compliant decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Legal Advisory & Risk Management:
- Provide day-to-day legal advice to management on operational, commercial, and strategic matters
- Identify legal risks across business activities and propose mitigation strategies
- Review internal policies to ensure compliance with Saudi laws and regulations
Contract Management:
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts (vendors, landlords, service providers, franchise, supply agreements)
- Ensure all agreements align with company interests and minimize liability exposure
- Maintain centralized contract repository and renewal tracking
Litigation & Dispute Handling:
- Manage all legal disputes, claims, and court cases (Commercial, Labor, Execution courts)
- Coordinate with external law firms and represent company interests effectively
- Develop defense strategies, review evidence, and ensure proper documentation
- Monitor case progress and provide regular updates to management
Regulatory & Government Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with Saudi regulations (Ministry of Commerce, MHRSD, ZATCA, Municipality, Civil Defense)
- Handle licensing, CR updates, regulatory filings, and official correspondence
- Liaise with government authorities and manage legal inspections or inquiries
Labor & Employment Law:
- Advise HR on labor law matters including contracts, terminations, disputes, and compliance
- Handle employee-related legal issues and represent company in labor disputes
- Ensure WPS, employment contracts, and policies are legally compliant
Corporate Governance:
- Ensure proper documentation of board resolutions, shareholder decisions, and company structure
- Maintain legal records and statutory documents
- Support restructuring, mergers, acquisitions, or expansions
Compliance & Internal Control:
- Develop and implement compliance frameworks across departments
- Conduct legal audits and ensure adherence to internal controls
- Train management and staff on legal awareness and risk prevention

Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) – Mandatory
- Master’s Degree (LLM) – Preferred
Experience:
- 5–10 years of legal experience, preferably in retail, FMCG, or multi-branch operations
- Strong experience in Saudi commercial, labor, and regulatory laws
- Proven track record in handling litigation and contract negotiation
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of Saudi legal system and court procedures
- Contract drafting and negotiation expertise
- Analytical thinking with risk-focused mindset
- Ability to handle high-pressure legal situations and disputes
- Strong communication (Arabic & English)
- Attention to detail and documentation accuracy
